Energy projects in Northern Territory will deliver long-term economic,
social, and environmental benefits to Australia. Energy resource exploration NT
believes in the right energy mix to provide reliable and affordable energy for
all Australians. The projects aim to replace coal in electricity generation by
gas because gas plays a key role in reducing emissions globally. If the project
moves into the production phase, it would contribute to energy security in the
Northern Territory, which would result in lower energy costs to Australians.
This move may also welcome a lower carbon future in Australia.
According to NT exploration reports, exploration
projects will generate a plethora of job opportunities for local communities.
A local company has
already undertaken the job of well site inspections and scheduled routine
maintenance on the infrastructure within the exploration permit. It checks
equipment, cleans solar panels, and maintains the well site and surrounding
lease area and access tracks. It also maintains the airstrip at Daly Waters and
provides on-call services, including checking any alarms and providing an
on-the-ground security response if required.
Another local
company involved in the NorthernTerritory Exploration project
makes sure local companies get to work on the Beetaloo project wherever
possible. The company is all set to expand its business by hiring more local
Aboriginal people, who make up one-third of its employee base. After knowing
about the offerings of the project, many Traditional Owner groups in the
Northern Territory are joining and supporting it.
