Conventional Oil And Gas Extraction Beetaloo

Onshore gas exploration drilling is the initial phase of drilling deep holes under the earth’s surface with the purpose of determining whether gas is available to be extracted. It also determines the physical properties of the area and can help find appropriate gas and oil reserves without drilling a larger hole that would have more impact to the area.

When gas products in the Northern Territory seek to find gas and oil, one of the major factors that need to be considered is whether the gas can be extracted safely since it is important to maintain the land as much as possible and support the people who rely on the surrounding land

Unlike less modern practices, the current methods of scientific inquiry into the Betaloo Basin also rely on working with the indigenous businesses of the area, as well as ensuring that meetings are held with the Northern Land Council to be totally transparent about plans to conduct fracking or exploration gas drilling. It is currently estimated that the Betaloo Basin has over 6 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas, but is only sustainably recoverable when companies do not only seek to obtain the gas, but also make sure that the surrounding tribes and indigenous people of the land benefit as well. One way to do this to avoid sacred sites, and work directly with the Aboriginal Areas Aboriginal Areas Protection Authority.

Ultimately, there are steps being taken to extract conventional oil and gas in Betaloo , as there is a significant amount of shale available in the Northern Territory, but it is being done with appropriate conservation in mind.
