Beetaloo Gas Exploration Is Worthy

Fracking can be a contentious issue and there are a lot of people that are concerned about fracking operations in the Beetaloo area. There are many misconceptions about fracking and much of the arguments around the practice are not based on the facts. It is believed by some that fracking is always dangerous to the environment, and in the case of the Beetaloo Exploration Project, that the Native title holder family groups will have their land ruined. However, this is not the case at all and the reality is very different.

Fracking in the Beetaloo area is heavily regulated to ensure that it is completely safe at all times. The exploration is supported by the Native title holder family groups and they are working closely with the project. In fact, local communities are improved by the many employment opportunities from gas reserve fracking in Beetaloo and The Origin Beetaloo Exploration Project works closely with local communities and invests heavily in them.

Before any fracking takes place, surveys of the area are carried out and strict measures are put in place to ensure that the local environment is protected. For example, at least 1 km of rock is between the shales being fracked and the water aquifer at all times, so no contamination can occur. As long as fracking is carried out safely in this way, it can actually benefit the environment because it reduces reliance on coal and cuts carbon emissions.

If you would like to know more about fracking and the reasons why fracking in Beetaloo is absolutely worthwhile, there is a lot of good information on The Origin Beetaloo Exploration Project website.
